The Afghan War is Becoming the Pakistan War - Max Fisher - International - The Atlantic
The Afghan War is Becoming the Pakistan War - Max Fisher - International - The Atlantic:
"Now the Wall Street Journal reports that Pakistan's powerful spy services, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), is pushing Taliban leaders to keep fighting the U.S., resist any move towards peace, and, in the words of one Taliban commander, 'kill everyone--policemen, soldiers, engineers, teachers, civilians--just to intimidate people.' Pakistan has never been a real ally, but it's never been a real enemy either--until now."
I'm telling you, overt war within the year.

Why are they releasing details? Shore up support of the public? Naming Ahmed Siddiqui as the informant?
"I want Americans to know how focused we all are in the government and how committed we are not only in protecting our own country but in protecting our friends and allies."
Seems as if the rest of the world doesn't understand how we operate. If this is the idea, then I say release a little more when we can. Good PR goes a long way.
"Despite the beefed up security presence at tourist sites in London and other European capitals on Wednesday, most visitors took the news in stride and went on with their sightseeing."
My only concern is that people do not get too comfortable with the idea.
